Recently Julie Dickson embarked on creating a concept for a TV Pilot centring around health retreats and looking at the steps people with busy lifestyles can take to better their well being.

After months of hard work Julie and the team at Scheffilm created the TV Pilot for a show called ‘ReTreat Me’.  The TV Pilot is currently in it’s final post production stages and is set to be released nationally with a screening tour around Australia as well as a pitch to the major free to air networks and pay TV.

'MY BABY' WINS BEST MUSIC VIDEO

A big Congratulations to Stinga T and Big Sexy of T.D.B. for being recognised at this years 2nd Annual National Indigenous Hip Hop & RnB BUMP Awards. 

They won an award for the album 'Rise' and an award for the music video 'My Baby'

'SAVE MYSELF' MUSIC VIDEO COMPLETE

Over the last 2 months Scheffilm Productions worked in collaboration with Gold Coast band VERUSIVE to develop their debut music video “Save Myself”.

The clip was shot over 2 full days using two locations and was shot on the Canon 5D Mark II.

Our team consisting of Lucas Scheffel (DP & Editor), Julie Dickson (Director and Development Team), Lennard Smith ( B Camera & Grip ) and Matthew Poidevin ( Lighting & Grip ) were thrilled at the opportunity to work with a band so focused and talented. It was obvious from our first meeting with their management that this band is destined for success.

We look forward to working with VERUSIVE again in the near future.

'THE SUMMIT' SELECTED FOR MUFF 2010

Congratulations to 'The Summit', our short film which has been selected to screen  at the 11th Melbourne Underground Film Festival 2010.

The festival runs from the 20th - 28th of August. Lucas and Julie, the creators of 'The Summit' look forward to attending.

Scheffilm to assist on QLD Feature Film

Cinematographer Lucas Scheffel is proud to announce his involvement as an assistant Director of Photographer in Peter Cannon’s Feature film 'Just Like U'.

'Just Like U' is to be filmed during the month of April on Brisbane’s Sunshine Coast and features a talented all star Australian Cast with a few well known faces and celebrities.

We won’t go into to much detail here but 'Just Like U' is set to brew a storm with International interest already knocking on Peter’s door.

For yet another year Scheffilm Productions attended the “Frances Folk Gathering” to produce their DVD for 2010’s celebrations.

Frances is a small town in South Australia that each year fills with brilliant talent and entertainment.

'THE COUNTERPART' SASA NOMINATION

We are excited to announce that our feature film 'The Counterpart' has been nominated for Best Feature in SASA 2010.

Director Lucas Scheffel was amazed by the nomination and just how much attention his Micro Budget feature film has been receiving.

'The Counterpart' was Lucas’ “Film School” so to speak and was shot over 2.5 years mainly in the Riverland here in South Australia on zero budget.

The films main aim was to entertain and make people laugh. Lucas hopes that his film will also teach young and aspiring film makers that you don’t need a lot of money and expensive equipment to make a film.

Lucas says “I’m not expecting much to come from the nomination, however I am just honored it had another chance on the big screen and that it was selected for nomination.”

On The Rise

On the 23rd of January 2010 Scheffilm Productions in association with Higher Ground sponsored the event “On the Rise”.

The night was a great success showcasing some fantastic South Australian talent in the screening of our short film “The Summit” and the launch of TDB’s latest album “Rise”

LATEST MUSIC VIDEO FOR T.D.B "MY BABY"

On the 20th of November 2010 Scheffilm Productions filmed yet another music video for Rap/Hip Hop Duo TDB intitled "My Baby".

ACS AWARD FOR MUSIC VIDEO "RISE"

Congratulations to Lucas Scheffel of Scheffilm Productions for winning a bronze award in the 2009 Australian Cinematography Society Awards.

The award was for music video "Rise" by T.D.B.

The Australian Cinematographers Society was established to?

• Further the advancement of cinematography in all fields and give due recognition to the outstanding work performed by Australian cinematographers.
• Keep members abreast of technology, new equipment and ideas through meetings, seminars and demonstrations.
• Provide a forum for cinematographers to meet with other members of the industry to discuss and exchange ideas, promote friendship and better understanding of each others industry role.

For many years Lucas has wanted to enter his work into the awards but always missed the cut off dates so this year he made sure he got his entries in and it paid off.

Due to being extremly busy here at Scheffilm Productions, Lucas was unable to attend the awards and claim his plaque which he was very dissapointed about. There is always next year though !!!

"RENVATIONS AUSTRALIA" DVD LAUNCH

In August 2009 Scheffilm Productions had the most fantastic opportunity to team up with Deor Productions and fly to Mackay, Queensland for the creation of the "Renovations Australia" DIY DVDs.

The team were there filming for a whole week and created a total of 9 DVDs (the first of many) to be put onto the Renovations Australia website for download.

After long hours of editing and voice
over work at Billy Hyde Recording Studios the DVD's were complete and are now set for distribution. Already the Renovations Australia team consisiting of Joe & Trudy Brunoli and Bruno and Michelle Spizzo have many sponsors interested in their fantastic project. They are also featured in the Bunnings Catalogue !!

"The Summit" A Short Film

"The Summit" was filmed over 3 days in the last week of October 2009. It was written, directed and produced by Lucas Scheffel and Julie Dickson of Scheffilm Productions.

We were extremley fortunate to have on board our production Yuta Tatarko a well known Gaffer who has worked on some very well known Hollywood films such as Rambo III.

The story follows two Hip/Hop artists and their girlfriends on a road trip to a gig. On the way they stop of in a small town called "The Summit" which has a very secret yet dark history which becomes apparent to the the group as the story unfolds.

"The Summit" is a Horror/Thriller Genre which is based on Actual events which makes it even more frightful to watch.

The film is in post production at present and we hope to screen it and enter it into festivals by the end of 2009 beginning 2010.

HAVANA HEAVEN FUNDRAISER

Julie and Lucas of Scheffilm Productions attended and partly sponsored the "Havana Heaven Fundraiser". We were there to capture the entire night and all the hard work put into organising the event by host Kara Fantasia.

The night was held on the 23rd of October at The Promethean on Grote Street, Adelaide in aid of raising funds to find a cure for cancer.Whilst Lucas Filmed, Julie assisted him as well as sold merchandise on the night for a good cause.

"We were so happy to help out on the night and provide our services in aid of a good cause"

The night was filled with fashion, dancing, great music and prizes !!

FEATURE FILM "THE COUNTERPART"

"The Counterpart" is a feature film written and directed by Lucas Scheffel of Scheffilm Productions


"The Counterpart" is a micro-budget feature film that can be compared to that of the 1979 film "Mad Max". It follows the story of an old school German crook, a young rookie gangster, two Mad Max like hit women and a plague of infected people who all cross paths and battle it out in a small country town.

The film was screened at the Mercury Cinema

SHORT FILM "COIL"

CANNE SHORT FILM CORNER 2009 Directed and edited by Lucas Scheffel. Assistant Directed by Julie Dickson. COIL screened at the 2009 CANNES SHORT FILM CORNER in France. This is a fantastic accomplishment for all involved. The film was further entered into six international festivals and four national competitions.

The film was screened in Adelaide at the Mercury Cinema in May 2009 and was well recieved by all who attended.

SONIC MONKEY MUSIC VIDEO "RESIST"

In 2008 Scheffilm Productions was involved in the making of a music video for Adelaide electro band 'Sonic Monkey'. The music video is in post production as we speak and is set to turn heads in a major way.

Lucas Scheffel (Scheffilm Productions)stepped back behind the camera to capture the 'Monkeys' debut music video.

Julie Dickson (Scheffilm Productions) not only directed 'Sonic Monkey's' music video 'Resist' at Sky city casino but also acted in it as "the girl who lost the boy".

So far, the band has had Air Play and interviews on S.A. and interstate radio stations and has enjoyed recently playing LIVE on Fresh FM "Pleasure Session" with DJ Josh. In 2008 'Sonic Monkey' had their debut on NOVA 91.9 with their new single "Resist" a collaboration with Paul James.
